XOXO is a full-scale creative direction project for the 20th-anniversary world tour of S.H.E, a legendary Mandarin pop group. The project encompassed all aspects of the concert's creative vision—including stage and scenic design, prop and costume direction, scriptwriting, setlist development, and emotional storytelling.
Rather than presenting a linear history, the show reframes S.H.E’s two-decade legacy through a visual and emotional lens. Each act reimagines a different facet of the group’s evolving identity—blending symbolism, stage aesthetics, and reconstructed medleys to evoke both nostalgia and transformation.
The stage design draws inspiration from the dual meanings of “XOXO”—symbolizing both “kiss” and “hug,” while also referencing “XX” as 20 in Roman numerals. The main stage takes the shape of lips, with the upper platform representing the upper lip, and the surrounding curved aisle and satellite B-stage forming the lower lip—encircling the audience in an intimate, symbolic embrace.
Each visual scene—from a psychiatric ward to an FM radio, to a suspended refrigerator rig—functions as a memory chamber, creating a multisensory journey through sound, image, and space. With eight acts, the concert becomes a hybrid of pop performance, theatrical storytelling, and emotional anthology—bridging generations of fandom through immersive spatial design.
